Good video and Thanks😊 How accurate is your "spring scale"? For instance is it accurate within +/- 50 grams or perhaps +/- 40 grams?! I'm not trying to be rude or Critical, but have you tested the Spring-Scale prior to choosing it for the project?! I once made an almost exact device using a Scandinavian Spring Scale (made by Abu Garcia of Sweden), and it wasn't Consistent enough for testing knots tied with thin lines (4 to 8 Lb. German Maxima monofilament or Fluorocarbon)!! So I'm Sincerely curious!!. I reached the conclusion that I needed a Very accurate Digital Scale. In fact I tried a Digital Fish Scale, and again it wasn't quite accurate enough!! People at Salt Strong in the U. S. Digital Scale more accurate than I can find.

Please put some guarding on your machines. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Unsure how a company can sell machinery without guarding. 😒😒

I’m from northern New York, USA. We have staghorn sumac which doesn’t have the same type of berry. Can you tell me the exact variety of sumac you are using? I already use it for juice and jelly, but haven’t tried spice. Not sure my variety will work for spice.

My concern with the system as-is - is that it neglects the rate. I'm a fly fisherman and 9 times out of 10, if my line fails, it fails when a fish rises to take my fly and I set the hook. The failure is ALWAYS at the junction between the tippet and the leader. I have used surgeon knots, blood-knots, and lately, a 2mm ID tippet ring. It's always been a frustrating situation because I really do not have any empirical data that tells me which is consistently the best - or least likely to fail. The irony? I am a materials scientist at a kind of like a Consumer Reports for dentists - I have at my disposal an Instron load testing machine that would be more than capable of tensile testing any kind of fishing rig you could dream up. The best part is that I could test the effect the rate of contraction (cross-head speed) had on each system. (Static vs dynamic loading.) Mmmm. Thanks for the inspiration!
